got my new phone last week, and its new Nokia Lumia 800 with Windows phone 7.5 mango os. I am really happy with what Microsoft has implemented on mobile platform. Its next level of excellence! Salute to Microsoft for Mango!
The price of Nokia Lumia 800 at Nokia Priority dealer was 28,500 rupees. I also got a bluetooth headset free with it. You can bargain for price if you dont want bluetooth headset.
While the UI is real awesome, features and simplicity of using phone are fantastic, i found battery performance a concern. Nokia itself acknowledged problem in battery performance and said it is a software issue and can be solved easily, in update in early 2012. It hardly run for 5 hours once i charge it fully. Here are list of setting you can try to get your battery perform better, [this might reduce functionality of your windows phone!]
1. Switch to Wifi: If you have wifi connection available, try using it instead of using 3G. Cellular data transfer eat up more battery.
2. Turn off wi-fi if not in use.
3. Check if bluetooth is not left on. There is no icon for status of bluetooth.
4. Turn off update check. Phone will check for update regularly if you have checked option of check for update
5. Configure mail accounts to download new mail manually or after 5-10 mins.
6. Turn off location sharing.
7. IMP : Turn on “Battery Saver” option in settings -> battery saver. Use this option only if you are not using your phone. It will prevent connecting your phone with internet!
